M.I.N.D. Lab, University Fernando Pessoa

Graduated in Electrotechnical Engineering from the University of Porto in 1986, and received a MSc and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Technology of Compiègne, France, in 1992. After, and until 1995 he worked as project manager and principal scientist for a collaborative industrial research institute, IIIA, involving european-wide projects. In 1995 he was a post-doctoral researcher at the AI & Robotics group at the Faculty of Engineering, U of Porto. He has done research and development in Object-Oriented Databases, Distributed Agent Systems, Knowledge Management, and Information and Knowledge Representation. He was an invited professor in Brazil, and heads since 1996 the Multimedia Studies and Resources Center at UFP.
