My primary research interests are computer-mediated communication and media effects. I am particularly interested in the concept of presence, which is experienced by technology users. Because recent research points toward presence being a psychological state of the technology user, I plan to become more involved in cognitive psychology research. Aside from my research interests, I enjoy and am constantly challenged by Web design.

Current involvements:
I am currently working on a study under Dr. David which aims to shed light on how technology users experience presence, or more precisely, what attributes of the users allow them to experience presence. Although many studies focus on the effects of presence, it will be beneficial to the presence research community to learn more about the people who experience this psychological state. Iím planning to expand this independent study into my thesis.
