A new line of research

In the M.I.N.D. Lab at UJI we have started a new line of research. Our aim is to use virtual worlds and internet-based telepsychology systems to increase the sense of well-being in elderly people, treating depression and loneliness. We also will create VR worlds and telepsychology system to increase motivation and adherence to treatment in patients suffering cancer. Another population to treat will be brain injury patients. We will develop telepsychology systems and VR environments for mental and physical rehabilitation in these patients. We will use our mood devices and adaptations of EMMA’s room to develop these new systems.

We have developed and we are testing a new Augmented Reality System for the treatment of acrophobia.

Another new line of research is the use of VR and telepsychology system for the treatment of pain in several medical populations.
